Privacy Policy

Proximal LLC (“Proximal”)

This policy applies to the technologies and services provided by Proximal LLC, including the Proximal Parking app. Users must be at least 18 years of age and in the United States.

1. Information Collected

• Account information: Email address and account settings, such as the selected garage.

• Parking Data (app): Includes precise location data, motion and orientation sensor data (such as accelerometer and gyroscope readings), information derived from the data (such as vehicle activity), and timestamps. “Always” location access is required for parking sessions to be tracked in the background without opening the app.

• Usage and technical data: Usage metrics (such as registration time) and logs.

• Information submitted by the user: Information provided through website forms or by contacting support.

2. Data Usage

• Account information: Account management, monitoring, support, and communications, including marketing content.

• Parking Data (includes location and motion data): Track parking activity, monitor proximity to selected garage, and provide estimates of where the user parked to help the user find their vehicle.

• Usage and technical data: Analyze usage as well as operate, secure, and improve services. 

• Information submitted by the user: Contact user regarding inquiries, such as support requests, and send marketing communications. Feedback provided may be used to improve services.

3. Information Sharing

Proximal LLC uses the following service providers:

1. Provider: Supabase
   - Information Shared: Account information and related information.
   - Purpose: Account management and authentication.

2. Provider: Railway
   - Information Shared: Parking Data uploaded by the user and related information for processing.
   - Purpose: Processing parking data and hosting services.

3. Provider: Resend
   - Information Shared: Email and related information.
   - Purpose: Send out email communications, such as sign-in codes.

4. Provider: Google
   - Information Shared: Website usage and form submissions.
   - Purpose: Website hosting and collecting inquiries and requests.

Information may also be disclosed when required by law. If Proximal is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or change of legal entity, information may be transferred to the successor.

4. Security and Retention

HTTPS is used to encrypt data sent through the app. No method of transmission or storage is guaranteed to be 100% secure.

Parking Data is stored on the device and is only sent online when the user chooses to upload a recording for processing. Uploaded recordings are not stored on the server after processing. Account information is retained until the account is deleted. Signing out or deleting the app may remove parking data stored on the device.

5. User Choices

• Delete the account and associated information: Use the “Delete account” button in the app’s Settings page or contact support@proximalparking.com to request data deletion.

• Request information associated with the account: Contact support@proximalparking.com.

• Location and motion permissions: These can be changed in the iOS Settings app.

6. Website

The website uses Google tools for hosting and to collect requests. The website may not respond to Do Not Track signals.

7. Changes to This Policy

The services, Terms of Service, and Privacy Policy may be changed with or without notice. Continued use after a change means acceptance of the updated terms.
